London Fashion Week (LFW) is one of the highest profile fashion events in the world and one of the ‘big four’ international catwalk influencers. LFW puts London and British Fashion firmly on the global stage, generating orders in the region of £100m; the event itself contributes £20 million to the London economy in terms of direct spend and attracts visitors from over 25 countries including US, France, Italy, Russia, Middle East, China and UAE.
London fashion week holds two major events in the year as well as two in paris.
London does february and september and Paris does january and March. These shows are exactly the same. but gives europeans a chance to view the latest looks!
This event gives every major and upcoming designer a chance to show off their new season collections for shop owners and people who have a major interest in fashion to browse and invest in for the spring collections.
This year is the year LFW makes the event popular for the younger population, "Brands not normally associated with catwalks and celebrity models are forming partnerships with London Fashion Week and British design talent to engage with a younger target audience." as quoted by marketing weekly.
During every show the featured designers and sponsors put together a free bag full of goodies. This is a great source of marketing as new brands give consumers a chance to try out their new products sometimes before they have even hit the shops!

When searching London Fashion Week in Google, I found hundreds of articles within a 10 second load up.
I was faced with numerous newspaper and magazine articles covered with information about LFW's history and its upcoming launch. Many of articles were featured in high end newspapers and fashion magazines such as Grazia , Vogue, Telegraph Newspaper, London Standard. as the reputation of London Fashion week is aimed at Middle class citizens.
Many of LFW 2013's Sponsors include: Canon, Vodafone and Kinder Bueno.
Noticeably Vodafone is the main sponsor for the event, after they signed a 3 year deal with the company to make the event more accessible to consumers rather than just shop traders. Vodafone is a suited sponsor of LFW because in its recent years, the company have gotten their customers involved with the company to give them a better experience with their brand. Vodafone does this to reward their most loyal customers to keep them coming back for more products. I think it is a great marketing opportunity to give customers unique prizes and once in a life time opportunities.
As quoted by the owner himself Alistair Guy " A Glamorous Thank You To You"
Vodafone "VIP" Customers will be offering exclusive prizes to its loyal customers through competitions throughout the year. A popular competition they offered was a chance to win £200 worth of Benefit Makeup.
Canon is a world leader in imaging products and solutions for the digital universe.
Being a user of Canon products myself, i know how important it is for photographer to get the million dollar image with their cameras.
I think Canon is a perfectly suited sponsor of London Fashion Week as they want to make sure the professional photographers who attend on behalf of magazines and newspapers have everything they need to capture the latest fashion trends and the technology is so advanced to make sure they can capture the most striking images possible ready to be published to thousands of fashion divas around the world.
This year, Canon had decided to run transport for photographers throughout the venue to make sure they didn't miss that all important shot. They also invited all guests and visitors to an exhibition space where the company's award winning range of professional EOS Digital Cameras and EF Lenses were available for trial.
What newspapers and mags did you find? Any press releases in them? Any ads? What demographic reads these?
